Today, I reached the 50 day mark of my 365 project. I actually didn’t even notice that I had hit 50 until I was adding a description to the photo on flickr. If I had noticed early, I probably would’ve done something more exciting and celebratory. Alas, I shall have to wait until the next milestone. That’s probably a good thing though. Gives me time to think of some ideas.
Usually I have to get up early on Saturdays for my acting class, but we’re on break right now. I have the horrible feeling that I’m going to wake up early tomorrow anyway, though. I suppose if I do, I can just go out for an early-morning photo walk. It wouldn’t be the end of the world.
Still trying to figure out how to do an LJ-Cut type thing. It kind of sucks that I haven’t figured it out already — I really wanted to post some outtakes from my Valentine’s Day shoot. I might still do that, but I really need to figure out the thingy first (wow, so descriptive).
A lot of my posts for a while will probably include me griping and moaning about trying to figure out how to make this all work the way I want it to. I apologize for that, but bear with me. My hope is that this will eventually get interesting.
Oh, and that shoot I was talking about in my last post? Didn’t really work out very well. We left the house a little too late and it was getting too dark. Plus, it was really cold and for the shots I wanted, we wouldn’t be wearing our coats. I still took one shot, but it didn’t quite turn out the way I wanted. Maybe I’ll go back and try again another time.
Working on figuring out how to post photos to this without them just sort of… being there. Like an LJ-cut on LiveJournal. You’d think it’d be easy to figure it out. Maybe I’m just not trying hard enough. This weekend, I plan to spend a pretty good amount of time working on this to make it pretty and functional. Stay tuned.
For now, I need to go get ready for a photo-shoot with my friend. She’s visiting from California and we only have a few days left before she leaves. A couple days ago, we went for a walk and found that the playground closest to my house is completely covered in snow. It looks a little bit ridiculous. I thought it might be fun to do a shoot there, so we’ll see how that goes.
Why, hello there!
So, I’ve had this site for a while but I keep forgetting to do anything with it. I probably should’ve started using it at the beginning of the year when I started my 365 project, but… I didn’t. Oh, procrastination.
You may know me from flickr, or perhaps you just know me. You might also have absolutely no idea who I am. My name is Zoie Pulkka. I’m 15 and I am trying extremely hard to work my way up in the photography world. I shoot with a Canon Rebel XTi. I’m still a little fuzzy on what exactly this site is going to be used for. Most likely, it’ll be for behind-the-scenes stuff and shots that I liked but didn’t really want to upload to flickr.
I have some big plans for this year, as far as my photography goes. I’d really like to start doing more photo-shoots and expand my portfolio a bit. I want to start learning more about the way cameras really work (which will be assisted by my brand new Lensbaby Composer). It’d be great if I could work as an assistant to a professional photographer over the summer. I’d also love to meet some other photographers my age in my area that I can work and grow with. I think that would be fun.
That’s really all for this post. Just trying to figure out how this thing works. If you get a chance, you should add me on flickr and follow me on Twitter. You can also add me on facebook, though I have to admit, I’m a little flaky about checking my friend requests on there.
Thanks for reading. Keep an eye out for more updates!
